Join or Renew Your Membership Online
Your membership with the Alumni Association is a valuable asset to your personal and professional life. It will keep you in the loop with our events, and keep you in touch with your classmates and industry professionals. Most importantly, you will be helping to maintain our goals to provide support to alumni and the school, and to raise funds for scholarships to cadets and students.
MCAA Member | Annual Dues: $0
Members are defined as graduates of the New York Nautical School, the New York State Nautical School, the New York State Merchant Marine Academy, the New York State Maritime Academy, the New York State Maritime College, the State University of New York Maritime College or any successor institution thereto (collectively, the Maritime School at Fort Schuyler) who have been admitted to membership upon graduation and remain in good standing as hereinafter provided.
As an MCAA Member, you are listed in the MCAA database to receive email notifications of events and other happenings, and access to social media postings.
Upon graduation, you are automatically a member of the Maritime College Alumni Association. Welcome!
Sustaining Member (formerly “Regular Member”)
Annual Dues: $60
As a Sustaining Member, you are entitled to all the benefits of MCAA Member PLUS voting rights, eligibility to hold office, receipt of hard copies of the Fort Schuyler Magazine, and other future rights that may be determined by the Board.
Sustaining Life 50 Member
Annual Dues: $20
When an alum reaches the 50th anniversary of their graduation, they are eligible for Sustaining Life 50 Membership and the reduced annual dues payments associated with it.
As a Sustaining Life 50 Member, you are entitled to all the benefits of MCAA Member PLUS voting rights, eligibility to hold office, receipt of hard copies of the Fort Schuyler Magazine, and other future rights that may be determined by the Board.
Lifetime Member
Annual Dues: N/A
Many moons ago, the Alumni Association offered a Lifetime Membership, where a graduate was able to make a lumpsum dues payment in order to join as a member for life. Unfortunately, this option is no longer offered, however the MCAA still honors this membership category for those who had previously enrolled.
As a Lifetime Member, you are entitled to all the benefits of Sustaining Member.
Honorary
The MCAA recognizes Honorary Members as persons who have distinguished themselves in affairs beneficial to the aspirations of the Association and to Maritime College Alumni as a whole. Honorary Members are elected by a unanimous vote of the Board of Directors, and approved by a majority of those present at the next subsequent Regular or Special Meeting. Honorary Members have all the privileges of membership except the right to vote or hold office in the Association.
