We’re charting the course for our milestone reunions—45 and 40 years since our time at Fort Schuyler. While the years have taken us far and wide, the friendships, sea stories, and Maritime pride that connect us remain strong. This reunion weekend is our chance to reconnect, reflect on our shared journey, and create new memories together. From our joint Anniversary Dinner at The Westchester Marriott to tailgates, class swag, and more, we’re making this a celebration worthy of our legacy. History
The Classes of 1980 and 1985 represent pivotal chapters in the evolving story of SUNY Maritime College. We entered Fort Schuyler in the fall of 1976 and 1981, respectively—at a time when the college was opening its doors to women and adapting to the changing tides of the maritime industry and the world beyond. Our time at Maritime was shaped by the rigors of regimental life, the challenges of sea term, and the friendships that grew both on and off the ship.
Together, we navigated an era of transition, learning to lead, adapt, and excel in an industry—and a world—that demanded our best. As we celebrate our 45th and 40th reunions, we honor the diverse paths we’ve taken, the careers we’ve built as captains, engineers, executives, and entrepreneurs, and the lasting impact we continue to make on the maritime profession and our communities.

Update on Hotel Accommodations for Alumni Weekend
Courtyard Tarrytown Westchester County
is offering a special group rate of $299 per night for Maritime College guests.
The room rate is good for Friday and Saturday night of Homecoming weekend, October 17 & 18, 2025
The block of rooms will be held until Friday, September 19, 2025.

We had a block of rooms available at the Westchester Marriott, allowing guests to stay in the same location as the reunion dinner.
Please note: This block is now full.

Shuttle to Homecoming and Tailgate on Saturday 10/18
Parking at homecoming is always a challenge – so here’s an option! For only $20 per person, we are offering a shuttle bus from the Westchester Marriott Parking Lot to the College Campus. This may fill up fast and it is first-come, first-serve.
The bus will depart the Marriott at 0930 and return to the Marriott (departing from outside the college gate) at 1600. All times sharp.
If you are interested – sign up now: Please email 1985domer@gmail.com with your name, that you are interested in the shuttle, no. of passengers traveling and method of payment. Either Venmo Heidi (@heidibenedikt) up front or state that you will bring cash.

1985 Tailgate @ Homecoming
Since it’s a reunion year, we’ll be taking over a few parking spots near the gym for our class tailgate. We’ll have some tables, chairs, sandwiches, snacks, drinks (including soda, beer, and water), and a good time waiting for you. We’d love for everyone to swing by and say hi!
If you or your family grab a bite or a drink, feel free to toss a few bucks in the bucket to help cover the cost. Looking forward to seeing you there!
